Sneaky Sling - Anastasia Timina
Sneaky Sling - Anastasia Timina
Sling - All Levels
Saturday 10a-1130a (TH)
This workshop is all about the plot twist...on sling that is! In this workshop we will focus on taking your sling choreography to the next level with some transitions that will leave the audience going "Wait, how did they get there?" This is a sequencing workshop focusing on my favorite clever transitions from wrap to wrap. We will cover some foundational sling theory to help us understand how these transitions work and then go over some transitions that feel and look like magic. Lastly we will look at some example sequencing that utilizes these transitions!
Prerequisites: Some sling experience is recommended; feeling comfortable spending a few minutes in the air at a time and some familiarity with seated straddle, half-seated straddle, straddle back, single knee hang with x wrap, seatbelt, and x-back.
Anastasia has been training aerial since 2011 and has been performing since 2013. Anastasia enjoys all forms of aerial including rope, silks, sling, trapeze, invented apparatus, and sometimes lyra. She approaches teaching skills through the incremental progressions of a martial artist, informed by kinesthetics and anatomy. Her coaching has been described as approachable, encouraging, and quirky with emphasis on proper technique and anatomical safety. She completed the Aerial Teacher Training Program in January of 2016 and since has been working as a coach to help others discover the joy of aerial and their potential to fly. She enables her students to hone their abilities, achieve their individual goals, and find their own artistic voices. In her free time, Anastasia can be found drawing, making costumes, and cuddling with her cats.
