This dynamic lyra workshop is designed for students looking to better understand dynamic movement and how it is applied to performing skills like hip circles, mill circles, and simple drops. We will pick apart the anatomy of a beat, and how to harness moments of "lift" to execute gravity-defying movements.
Level: intermediate. Pre-reqs: Ability to invert in the air. Comfortable hanging from straight arms overhead.
Bio:
Kylin began training aerial dance at AerialWorks in Castle Rock in 2016 and teaching in 2017. With three teaching trainings under her belt, she has taught around the world at a variety of studios and events, and is currently based at The Barn in Minturn. She is passionate about creating and sharing her art through aerial, which is deeply inspired by ecology and the human experience. Kylin aims to foster students that understand the ins and outs of aerial enough to move freely and express themselves through it.
