The Road Less Traveled - Leah Grandstaff
The Road Less Traveled - Leah Grandstaff
Silks - Intermediate
Saturday 4-530 (TH)
We know there are many paths that lead to (& out of) any given skill. In this workshop we’ll explore non-traditional paths & transitions that lead us into & away from familiar places. Get off that beaten path & tread some new ones! We’ll look at contrasting what we gravitate toward (individual patterns & go-to’s) in order to shift our perspective & reframe ourselves in relation to our silks. Seeing things from an alternate vantage point, we ignite our creativity in the air!
Minimum 6 months experience with silks, ability to invert in the air, comfort being in the air for 3-5 minutes
Leah Grandstaff (aka LeahTard Wedgie) began pushing her boundaries and exploring strength and grace through aerial acrobatics training & performances in 2013. Discovering herself through this modality inspired her to share this movement art with others. Leah completed her first teacher training through Aircats in Boulder, CO in 2016 & has been enjoying coaching immensely ever since. Her teaching philosophy is founded upon the conceptual understanding of aerial movement as well as encouraging her students to honor their authentic selves by identifying strengths, accepting limitations, and exploring areas to cultivate growth. She teaches aerial classes at Aerial Cirque over Denver, Gravity Aerial Arts, Aircat Aerial Arts & offers private lessons at LeahTard’s Creative Sanctuary in RiNo. She has been a cast member of the Phantom Circus since 2016 & In the Wings aerial dance company since 2020! Leah specializes in fabric, but enjoys exploring sling, lyra, dance trapeze & has developed a deep love for duo-trapeze. Leah spends her free time catching sunsets, spending time with her son & daughter, & enjoying palate-pleasing food!
